Recently the UFO maths group have been learning to solve addition and subtracting problems using place value. To help us we have been using money to help us trade. Did you know there are 10 ones in 1 ten and 10 tens in 1 hundred

Today the Iornhide maths group learnt to solve addition and subtracting problems using place value. To help us we used the slavonic abacus to count tidy numbers and visualise what it looks like.
This is an example of a question we had to solve:
Mr Mac had 69 muesli bars in his office. He gave 47 away to the High Flyers group. How many muesli bars did he have left?

The Bumble bee group maths group learnt to solve add and subtract fraction from a whole using words and symbols. To help us we used the white boards and white board markers to draw our own Oreo cookie packets and chocolate bars to share them amongst our friends.
This is an example of a question we had to solve:
Kataraina had a packet of Oreo cookies. There are 10 in the packet. What fraction is left over if she eats 3?
